Wreath Laying Ceremony in Honor of George Peabody

Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 11 a.m.
Location: The Gravesite of George Peabody at the Harmony Grove Cemetery

The Board of Trustees of the Peabody Institute Library invites you to a wreath-laying ceremony in honor of George Peabody's 215th birthday. Refreshments immediately following at the George Peabody House Museum, located at 205 Washington St. in Peabody.

White Goods Stickers Available at Peabody Institute Libraries

City of Peabody White Goods Stickers are now available at the Main, South and West Branch Libraries. Stickers cost $10 and are non-refundable. For more information, please call the City Clerk's office at 978-538-5956.

Basic Microsoft Word 2003 Training Course

Mondays 10 a.m. – 11 a.m., Starting January 25th, 2010

This Course is for users who are new to Word or have little experience using MS Word for creating documents. After completing this course you will be able to create a document and edit it, use menus and toolbars in Word to accomplish basic tasks from changing document margins to undoing changes, use basic formatting to make text bold or italic, change line spacing, indent paragraphs, and apply basic styles to a document, save and print a finished document. Friends' Book Sales

Mark your calendar! The Friends will host their Annual Book and Geranium Sale on Saturday May 16 and Sunday May 17. In addition, the Friends hold a smaller Book Sale on the second Saturday of every month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Main Library. Upcoming dates for the monthly Book Sales are April 11, June 13, July 11, August 8, September 12, October 10, November 14, and December 12. All proceeds benefit Library programming – please join us and support your library!

 

Bookworm Cafe

Open Monday - Friday from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m.

Staffed by special education students in Peabody High School's life skills classes, the Bookworm Cafe is open Monday - Friday from 9:30 - 11:30. The cafe, located in the Main Library's Young Adult Room, serves fresh coffee, tea and baked goods.
