Library of Things
The Peabody Library is delighted to provide a lending library of non-book items that we think you will find useful and fun! The collection contains items you might not otherwise want to spend money on, such as technology gadgets, tools, entertainment, board games, and outdoor equipment.
Each item may be borrowed for 2 weeks at a time, and can be renewed one time if nobody else has reserved it.
Peabody cardholders can place holds on Library of Things items in the catalog, to be picked at the Main Library only, at the Public Services Desk. see below for more information on reserving, picking up, and returning items.

Reserving a Thing
Library of Things items can be put on hold just like a book. However you must have a Peabody library card and be able to pick up the item at the Main Library.
Log in to your noblenet account, find your item, and place it on hold just like a book. Please note that Library of Things items are held on a first-come first-served basis and cannot be reserved for a specific date.
You’ll get a notification when your hold is ready to be picked up at the Main Library.
You may also come in to the library and browse the collection at your leisure!
Picking Up a Thing
If you’ve reserved an item, you may pick up your items at the Public Service Desk during normal Library hours.
You can also browse the collection, located outside the Director’s Office in the main room.
Each item contains a laminated table of contents either taped to the front of the box or just inside the box – please double check the list before leaving the library to make sure everything is there.
Returning a Thing
Please return items to the Main Library at 82 Main Street, inside the library at the Public Service Desk.
Please do not return items to the book drop, as we don’t want them to get squished, damaged, or lost.
Items must be returned in their original containers, and please double check that you are returning all of the pieces or parts that you checked out.
Please be extra careful to return items clean and sanitized.
